Course:
Clay Paints and Plasters
A hands-on workshop to explore the possibilities of clay plasters and paints.
Clay plasters and paints are natural, non-toxic materials that promote healthier indoor environments. They regulate humidity by absorbing and releasing moisture, improving air quality and reducing the risk of mold. Free from harmful chemicals like VOCs, they contribute to clean, safe spaces. Clay is also sustainable, with a low carbon footprint due to its minimal processing, local availability, and recyclability. Its thermal mass helps regulate indoor temperatures, reducing energy use, while its sound-dampening properties enhance acoustic comfort.
Aesthetically, clay plasters offer warm, earthy textures and a range of natural colors, creating unique, timeless finishes. They are easy to work with, repairable, and suitable for DIY or professional use. Clay surfaces resist dust and odors, adding to their hygienic benefits. By choosing clay, you combine tradition and innovation, supporting sustainable building practices while achieving beautiful, functional spaces.
